Meet the Pastor

Meet Our Pastor

Pastor Tremayne Benson

Pastor Tremayne Benson was raised in Coosa County Alabama, where he fell in love with church in his youth; he taught the Men’s Sunday School Class at the young age of 17, under the leadership of his father, Pastor Stanford Benson. He is the second child from a family of three; spiritually nurtured by his father and mother, Dorothy Benson. From his early years he had a passionate love for God and throughout his life he has always found a way to serve God and His kingdom.

Pastor Tremayne Benson, one of the world’s most authentic visionaries, draws upon his intuition to help others in areas within the church and beyond. “People don’t care how much you know, until they know how much you care.” This is the bridge that Pastor Benson crosses as he continues to serve people from all races, nationalities, neighborhoods, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
His academic achievements began with matriculation at Auburn University, where he majored in Business Administration. He went on to earn his Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) from Troy University.

Today at the age of 41, he is a District Manager for the Social Security Administration. He leads a staff of diverse employees and they serve citizens in four counties. God has blessed him in ways many of us could have never imagined; however, one of the greatest gifts to receive is the strength to serve those in need. This is the backdrop that Pastor Benson uses as he dedicates his life to helping others.

Over the years, his role as a minister has afforded him the opportunity to serve as the pastor of New Pilgrim Church in River Falls, Alabama and to be a spiritual shepherd to hundreds around the country.  As the Senior Pastor of New Pilgrim, he grew the ministry to become the fastest growing ministry in Covington County. Pastor Benson’s leadership allowed the church to become debt free within 14 months of his administration, purchase land adjacent to the church, and build one of the largest active youth ministries in the county.

Pastor Benson has always displayed a passion for reaching youth in the community. He is the Founder and Executive Director of the World Youth Association, Inc. His organization has partnered with the Children’s Hospital in Birmingham, AL to entertain patients with Disney look-a-like characters. In addition, they help sponsor a yearly conference called the Dreamality Conference, that aims to empower middle and high school students to transform their dreams into reality.

These experiences ignited his desire to shepherd God’s people, and after much prayer, fasting and Godly council, he accepted the call to become the Senior Pastor of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church. On Sunday, April 14, 2024 he preached his first sermon entitled “Walking on Storms”.

Even though he has been the recipient of numerous awards and commendations, Pastor Benson embodies the core principles of what it means to be a Servant Leader. Even still, he would say that his greatest accomplishments are his beautiful wife, Lady Batina Benson of more than 15 years; together they are successfully raising three amazing children.
